Reopening News...Finally!

7/9/2021

As of June 29th, I have reopened my massage practice and am now accepting appointments!
Patient Responsibilities and Process

As a licensed healthcare professional, taking every precaution for your health is part of my standard of care. But I need YOUR help to maintain this standard for the health of everyone who walks through our doors during this time of the Covid-19 pandemic.
For that reason, the following Patient Protocols will be in place until further notice:

1.  If you are not feeling well or are having symptoms of Covid-19 or have been exposed to someone that has been diagnosed with Covid-19 or is experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, you must reschedule your massage appointment for two weeks after that date. If you test positive for Covid-19, you will be required to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test before returning for a massage. There is no charge for canceling your appointment.

2.  At this time, I am requiring proof of full vaccination to receive treatments at my office.  Full vaccination means 14 days after your final dose. You may use the excelsior pass or show me a copy of your vaccination card.

3. When you arrive, please text me that you have arrived and WAIT IN YOUR CAR.  I will call you and proceed with doing your patient in-take and check-in over the phone. This is when we will discuss your symptoms, health issues and treatment goals.

4. Upon entrance to the building you must be wearing a clean face mask. You must also use hand sanitizer (which I will provide) when you enter. Masks must be covering your nose and mouth AT ALL TIMES. My landlord is requiring masks to be worn at all times by everyone that enters the building regardless of vaccination status. You will be required to wear a mask during your entire treatment, even in the prone (face down) position. I will have extra disposable surgical masks on hand in case you need one.

5. Before we begin:
  1. You will sign a health affidavit confirming your health status and /or exposure to Covid-19.
  2. You will sign an informed consent form and waiver.
To eliminate crowding in the building, these can be filled out on your computer and emailed back to me the day of your appointment. If you feel uncomfortable emailing, then the forms may be filled out when you arrive at my office.

6.  There will be a metal folding chair for my patients to use. Please do not sit on any of the other chairs or couch in my office. They belong to the social worker that I share my office with and are not to be used by my patients at this time. After I leave you to get undressed, please put your clothing, purse and other personal items on the metal chair ONLY. Do not hang them or place anywhere else in my office. You may choose to bring a bag for your clothing, that's fine, please still place it on the metal chair. The chair will be sanitized after every patient.

7.  Please wash your hands with soap and water after using the bathroom. I will have paper napkins in the bathroom for drying your hands.

8. I would prefer patients to pay in advance at this time but it is not required. I will be doing touchless credit/debit card payments at my office. Cash will still be accepted as well, you must have exact change only. I would prefer non-cash payments.

Please note:

Please arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment. I have put aside additional time between my appointments to clean, sanitize and disinfect my office. I do not like cutting patient's treatment time if they are late but at this time, ensuring I have enough time to completely disinfect my office takes precedent. Please keep this in mind that if you are late, I may have to cut your treatment time.

This goes without saying but just to reassure you, the sheets, pillowcases, headrest covers, towels and blankets are changed between clients. I have always done that. Everyone always gets clean and freshly laundered linens.

At this time and until further notice, I am not offering hot towels, hot stone, cold stone, salt stone, dry brushing or sinus/headache and face massage treatments.

Before the pandemic, I had offered monthly massage specials and discounts. Until further notice, I will not be offering monthly specials or discounts.

I am fully vaccinated and will be happy to show you my card upon request. If I am not feeling well or start to experience any Covid-19 symptoms or if I have been exposed to anyone that has Covid-19 or is displaying Covid-19 symptoms, I will cancel my appointments for two weeks from that date and get tested. I will notify any of my patients that I've been in contact with of my result. If, at any time, I test positive for Covid-19, I will send notice to everyone on my email list as well as any patients that have been in my office and take it from there. I will also contact any patients that have been in my office if anyone that has been in the office building has tested positive for Covid-19.

I reserve the right to change, update and modify these safety measures at any time. As I transition back into my office, I may find there are additional safety measures and patient protocols that need implementing or that the measures listed here need adjusting. As a licensed healthcare professional,  I am and always have been committed to maintaining a safe and clean environment for my patients to ensure their safety and health and will continue to do so.

If you have any questions, please let me know! Thank you!

*Please Note* I am no longer accepting same day or last minute appointments. All appointments must be booked online. You must make your appointment at least 48 hours in advance.

Hey Everybody,

I have my own retail line of jewelry, decor and more! It's just starting out and I've been making things as time allows but I have been having a lot of fun doing it.

Under the book online now section of my website you will see a new section called
"The Blessed Hippy Shop". I will be listing some items here for purchase as they relate to my massage practice!

So far, I've listed two items. Introducing my newly redesigned line of essential oil roll-ons! You can design your own scent or purchase one of my pre-made blends! These are all made to order. You can pick up at my office or I am happy to ship them to you for a flat fee of $4.99 per shipment. Gift wrapping is also available at my office or to ship for $1 additional per item.

The base oil in each bottle is apricot kernel oil. This is a light non-greasy oil that works well for all skin types especially those with sensitive skin. It is anti-inflammatory and contains fatty acids as well as vitamins A, B, C and E. It moisturizes the skin, stimulates collagen production and works as an anti-oxidant.

The pre-made blends are as follows:

Headache & Sinus Relief: apricot kernel oil, peppermint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, spearmint.

Muscle & Joint Pain Relief: apricot kernel oil, rosemary, pumpkin seed oil, peppermint, clary sage, bergamot, patchouli

Relax and Zen: apricot kernel oil, lavender, cedarwood, bergamot, frankincense

I am also very excited and honored to be nominated for the third year in a row for the "Best of Long Island". This year I am nominated for best massage AND best holistic wellness. Thank you all so very much. I've been a licensed massage therapist since 2011 but decided to start my own practice three years ago. I did it all grassroots without any starting capital, savings or investment. I was lucky to be able to find a beautiful space to rent. I have invested a lot of my income back into my business for whatever equipment, supplies and tools I have needed. I do all of my marketing, sales, web design, bookkeeping, etc. Basically, I do it all on my own so it just means so very much to be recognized for helping others. Helping people improve their quality of life and just feel better is a gift. Knowing that I had a part in making someone's day or life better is very rewarding. I just love what I do. So thank you again.

It would be fantastic to win this year but being nominated in TWO categories is truly a win in itself. Voting is open now through December 15th. You can vote once per day in each of my categories. I am listed under "Health, Wellness & Beauty" in the "Massage" and "Holistic Wellness" categories. Thank you again.

Rejuvenating Face Massage: The Natural Facial and Face Lift

4/30/2019

Picture
Did you know the human face has 43 muscles? It's amazing right?!

All of our muscles, facial ones included are surrounded by fascia also known as connective tissue. Connective tissue is mainly comprised of collagen and elastin. This tissue protects our muscles from tears and over-stretching. It also helps connect our muscles to ligaments and tendons, which in turn, attach to our bones. It also helps with the exchange and transfer of oxygen, nutrients and fluids between cells of our tissues.

The muscles of our face work very hard every day! We never think that they may need some massage and care too! When we are stressed, we tend to clench our jaw muscles and tighten the muscles of our face, especially across the forehead. Try now to just let go and relax your face muscles. Just let the tension drop off. It's surprising isn't it? Most of us walk around with tension in our faces without even knowing it!

The face is a part of the body that gets overlooked during a massage but it contains many parts that are integral for our health! Think about it: our ears, eyes, nose, sinuses, our mouths, teeth, jaw and skull. Not to mention our skin! The skin is the largest organ in the human body!

Introducing my “Rejuvenating Face Massage: The Natural Facial”. This 30 minute treatment helps to drain lymph and sinuses, ease tension, improve circulation, stimulate natural collagen production, relax and uplift the muscles of the face and reduce inflammation. It promotes healthy muscle and connective tissue function and structure, which in turn can reduce fine lines, improve sagging skin and reduce under eye circles. In this treatment, I use: targeted massage techniques, dry brushing, smooth and chilled quartz stones, hematite stones, acupressure and a warm towel wrap.

Dry brushing exfoliates the skin, boosts circulation, moves lymph fluids and sedates the nervous system.

Natural quartz is a master healing crystal that helps to stimulate circulation, support the immune system and promote the healthy flow of energy. It has been used to treat headaches, exhaustion and skin disorders. It is also helps in eliminating toxins from the system.

Natural hematite helps to ground one's energy systems. It absorbs toxic energy and promotes calmness by lifting energetic vibration. It helps promote healthy circulation and has been known to benefit the liver and blood. It has been used to treat insomnia, muscle cramps and a number of blood disorders. It reduces inflammation and supports tissue and muscle healing.

Acupressure uses the same Traditional Chinese Medicine principles as acupuncture but without the use of needles. Applying pressure to specific points along the meridians and channels of the body helps the body to balance its energy, remove stagnation, move fluids and enhance circulation, reduce pain, boost immunity and reduce stress.

I'm really excited to offer this new service to my clients. It's a natural and chemical-free alternative that I hope you will enjoy!

I'm offering an introductory discount during May!
Try it out for only $45!

The discount code is: NATURAL.

I hope everyone had a great summer! October's Newsletter is out!

Every year in April and October, I do my own version of spa week. As many of you know, I have been a licensed  massage therapist for seven years.  This year I am celebrating the second year of starting my own practice/business and being nominated for the second year in a row for the L.I Press and Bethpage Federal Credit Union's "Best of Long Island". This is the 14th annual Best of Long Island contest and I'm very thrilled to be nominated again for best massage on Long Island. So, this month, I'm offering a bunch of specials as a way of saying thank you to my truly amazing clients that have nominated me again!

Running my own practice and being a business owner has had its challenges but it is something I am proud to be doing. I have grown this business grassroots style without any financial help or investors and without outsourcing for any help with my business. I do all of my own marketing, web design, networking, sales campaigns, bookkeeping, accounting and even laundry (lol). The reward is being able to provide my clients with an exemplary level of care from taking the time to go over your health history and discuss your goals to providing a clean and comfortable environment to being able to offer specials that help save your wallet but still provide the best massage I can to alleviate your pain and stress. It's been a wonderful journey and to be nominated best massage for both years that I have been running my own practice/business really is a humbling and wonderful way of knowing that what I do matters and that I am making a positive difference in the lives of others. Thank you very much. I hope to see you in the office soon! Have a wonderful October!

Happy July Everyone!

July's Newsletter is Out!

Picture
Hope you are all enjoying your summer so far!

I've developed and added a new treatment to my repertoire:

"Chakra and Energy Balancing" Treatment

You are an energetic being. Your body's electrical charge is strong enough to power a light bulb. The human body's nervous system works on an electrical grid. The heart beats on an electrical rhythm. Each cell in the body has an electrical charge. Your body is roughly 70% water. Water conducts electricity. You are an energetic being that carries electricity within you.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on helping the body come into energetic balance through a system of meridians that run along the body. Acupressure and Acupuncture are based off of these principles. Chakras were first mentioned in ancient Hindu and Buddhist texts described as wheels. They can be likened to electromagnetic hubs within the body.

Crystals and gemstones have their own energetic vibration. They are comprised of many of the same elements we are. They are formed by gases, water, heat and earth combining with different minerals within the Earth. They have been used for their therapeutic properties for thousands of years.

This treatment is designed to support your body's innate power to balance itself by using ancient methods of energy balancing, clearing and re-calibration, such as: acupressure points, acupressure massage, healing sound frequencies and aromatherapy.

This treatment is 45 minutes. There is an extra 15 minutes added on to allow time for assessment and intake.

This treatment is beneficial to just about anyone but would be great for those: in chronic pain, feeling stuck, overwhelmed with stress or emotion, feeling lost or disconnected, and those with chronic diseases.

This month, newsletter subscribers receive a discount on your first treatment!

Happy February!

2/2/2018

Hello Everyone! February is here! Groundhog says six more weeks of winter but I am currently manifesting spring weather! This month's newsletter has gone out! Each month, I offer an exclusive deal to newsletter subscribers! If you aren't on the list and would like to be, please fill out the form at the bottom of this blog!

First, I would like to thank all of my clients for their continued support and loyalty. I have built this practice on my own, by myself, from the ground up without funding and outsourcing. Your patronage is very much appreciated. I am happy to be a part of your wellness journey and it brings me great joy to be able to help you. Thank you also for the very generous holiday gifts and the tokens of thanks along the way. Going out on my own has been very rewarding, albeit, with challenges but so very much worth it. Thank you again! You are the best!

This month's news and specials:

I have a new treatment available for this month only: "Drift Away Massage Treatment" includes a 45 minute Swedish massage, hot stones placed along the back, 15 minute rose water scalp massage and a 30 minute cocoa mint foot massage. I am also offering a 60 minute hot stone massage for only $85.

I will be having another meditation class in March. This one will be focused on grounding and centering. When you are grounded, you are less likely to be thrown off your center. I will do a guided meditation as well as teaching some techniques you can take home and use daily to alleviate stress, increase focus and remove dense energy around you.

Also, starting this month, I have a new loyalty program that I have designed to reward my loyal clients for referring me to new clients!

I have listed all the information below:

New Loyalty Program

Picture
I have designed a new program that rewards you for referring others you think would benefit from receiving one of my therapeutic treatments.

I have referral cards available at my office for you to fill out with your name and hand out to others. When someone comes in to redeem this card, you get $20 off any treatment. The person redeeming the card receives $15 off their first treatment. The more people you refer, that come in, the more savings you rack up. For example, if 4 people come in with cards stating they were referred by you, that's $80 off any treatment. You can save these dollars to accumulate or use them as you get them! They never expire.

I hope your October was wonderful! November is just around the corner and the November Newsletter is chock full of news!

This month's special:
Fire & Ice Treatment is only $125 for those on my email list. That's $15 off the regular price.
The Fire & Ice Treatment is a 90 minute hot stone treatment that incorporates the use of cooling peppermint. Heat brings blood to the muscle to nourish the tissues and the "ice" of peppermint provides cooling for pain relief. It is the best of both worlds. If you haven't tried this treatment, I highly suggest it! I have had nothing but positive feedback! If you're not on my email list, sign up to get the discount code.

New this month:
  • I have added 60 and 90 minute treatments into my regular service offerings:
              A 60 minute treatment is $70 and the 90 minute is $100.
  • There is now an option to add 15 minutes on to your treatment for $15 more.
  • I have added a 75 minute hot stone treatment to the list of treatments:                     The cost is $100. There is no longer an add-on option for hot stones. If you would like a longer treatment, you can add the 15 minutes from the scheduling page.

Freebie for November:
Coming in December, I will be offering a new treatment that includes dry brushing. As a token of gratitude and thanks to all my clients, new and old, I am offering FREE dry brushing with any appointment booked in November.  Dry brushing stimulates healthy circulation and lymph flow, exfoliates and refreshes the skin.

Best of Long Island:
A big THANK YOU to all my clients for your votes & nominations in the "Best of Long Island" contest. I am over the moon that you have honored me to be nominated for this prestigious and sought after title. I cried tears of joy when I found out I was nominated. I really care about the wellness of my clients. To be given this nomination really means more than I could ever say. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. All of your votes are appreciated.
